Walking
The local area provides an abundance of walks of varying terrain and difficulty. Choose between gentle forest paths along streams and rivers to climbs offering the reward of stunning views once you reach the top. You may see woodpeckers, jays, buzzards, and even red kites along the way. In addition to planted forest there are plenty of natural and ancient woodland habitats where the displays of bluebells in spring are stunning.
Brechfa Forest and the local area offers a range of routes and circular walks. These are well signposted or you can test your map reading skills and plan your own. The forest can be accessed directly from the rear of The Barn or parking areas for the published, circular routes at Byrgwm and Abergorlech are both about a mile away.
