Garden lovers will not be disappointed with the National Botanic Garden of Wales, Aberglasney Gardens and Norwood all within a twenty minute drive from The Barn.

The National Botanic Garden of Wales is home to over 8000 different plant varieties set in 560 acres of beautiful countryside. It also has the world’s largest single spanned glasshouse and is the only place in the world where you can visit the Mediterranean, South Africa, Australia, Chile and California all on the same day. There is also a stunning range of themed gardens including Japanese, boulder and enchanting water features. Other facilities include the award winning Seasons restaurant, two excellent cafés, and a plant sales area. The cafe and plant shop can be visited without paying an admission charge.

Aberglasney Gardens offers ten acres of stunning landscaping that includes three walled gardens. At the heart of the garden is a fully restored Elizabethan/Jacobean cloister and parapet walk. Set within the cloisters is the Cloister Garden, which is based on findings from an extensive archaeological survey undertaken in 1999.

The most recent addition to the garden is the award winning 'Ninfarium', a garden based on the gardens of Ninfa near Rome. It is a unique indoor garden area built within the central ruins of the mansion and is filled with a wide variety of exotic plants.

The cafe at Aberglasney serves delicious lunches and snacks that can be enjoyed on the terrace overlooking the pool during the summer months.

Aberglasney also hosts a number of special events throughout the year including concerts, courses and theatre productions.

Norwood Gardens and Tearooms between Carmarthen and Lampeter, comprises of seven individually themed gardens making up the total three acres of beautiful landscaping. Seating areas encourage visitors to stop and relax. The Tea Room is a converted milking parlour and can be visited without paying an admission charge to the gardens. The conservatory offers a beautiful view across the garden to the Teifi valley beyond.
